Small Tank Recommendations

Im interested in starting a tropical nano tank with some micro rasboras/galaxy, but its just the tank I need

maybe around 20-30 litres

I love tanks with curved edges like the arcadia arc tank [that is a little pricey but its lovely] so something like that really, doesnt have to have an over head lighting but thats a bonus!

just somthing nice I could have on my computer desk [given the right size mind]

cheaper the better

any help welcome!

Hi, I agree about tha Arc tanks, they are lovely but no heater and not so good a filter either, Aqua Horizon are really nice or the Interpet Fishbox, I was stuck between the last two and venyuallt settled on the fishbox, I think the horizon is a nicer looking tank but I was stuck for space so the fishbox also being a bit cheaper won, decent capable (if somewhat basic) filter and heater, the lighting is cool, 2 15w bulbs , 1white 1 blue, nice with both on, hope this helps a bit....

I actually already have the Fishbox haha =] its a really nice tank, teh first one i started out with!

they are just a little bit to big i need something pretty small

Ive been looking at the Aqua Qubes but I dont think they sell them in shops anymore? teh 15l one would be perfect =]

maybe I should think about 10 to 25L tanks...

Not seen AquaCube anywhere except the classifieds here, small tanks in P@H are they "clearseal"?

If you can get hold of them, Aqua One do some lovely glass tanks of lots of different specs- long bowfronts, possibly cubes, rounded rectangular, and possibly some more. They aren't that expensive either if I recall, although they're only the tank and you'd have to get the rest separately, which isn't nessecarily a bad thing.

haha s'alright =] I hadnt thought about clearseal tanks, they will be an option but they arent very aesthetically pleasing though, plan B!

Aye they really do, and now looking at my betta tank im sure thats an Aqua cube 40 I love the style of it

Hi, i just bought a 20L triangle aquarium from pets @ home. It's £40 at the mo but that's an introductory price soon to be £50. It has a light built in to the hood and a 3 stage filter. If your desk is in a corner it would be cool. When mine has matured it will be for shrimps. Going to keep a few small fish in there for a few months first.

Ha thats a version of aqua box. It just doesn't say so on the box. I have two of their tanks and I can safely say their filters are nice and powerful. I REALLY like their tanks; I initially got my smaller one (1.5 gallons for shrimp) as it was one of the smallest I could find, and I recently got their 4.5 gallons for my betta. If you need a new lightbulb for the tank - ebay is cheaper than pets at home for a replacement bulb.

To the OP the ones from pets at home are from a company called www.aa-aquariums.com (it might be .net I dont remember) but I don't think they deliver to the UK, only in Hong Kong. Also how about aquastart 320 or would that be too big? (it's about 7 gallons)

so it's a version of aqua box. Thanks for info on bulb. Also the aquastart 320 is a great little tank, the only thing I don't like about it is the under gravel filter, so I removed and now use a eheim aquaball.

There are some great little tanks in "the range". Think the maker is Fish r fun. Its a Chinese company and the tanks are imported into the UK so its hard to get replacement parts apart from the usual lamps and filter components. But saying that I bought a second tank - 20 litres recently as it has the filtration and lighting with it as a great little package. I stuck a small heater in there too but as the tank is glass there are no worries about that being in there.

I have to agree i have two fish r fun tanks for two of my bettas and they run like clockwork almost a year old a never a problem

ideally id like an open top light overhanging curved corners about 25x25x25 ish...not too much to ask is it?

The 20L Arcadia sounds like what your looking for click me
i got the 35L version, me and my betta love it . may need to upgrade the filter as its not the best.
