My wife has decided when we visited maidenhead aquatics that she loved the shell dwellers she thought it was sweet that they got them selves into the shells. Now I have a few tanks that i could use i would like some advise on what would be best.
right i have a
24x12x12 whaich is 57ltrs or 14.96usg
24x12x14 which is 66ltrs or 17.45usg
or i have a 32x12.5x18 which is 116ltrs or 31usg didnt really wanna use this one though so what are my options.

I'm in the process of setting up a shell dweller tank myself. Based on my reading, a 24x12x12 is a fine size to use; they can actually be kept successfully in smaller tanks than that. There is no advantage to the 24x12x14 since shellies since they will only use the bottom of the tank. What species are you looking at?

make sure you have something like eight or ten shells per fish to create their territories. what type of shelldweller are you thinking about getting? at aquahobby.com they have a few types. i like the 'Big-Eye' Lamprologus myself.
:D
