Tropical fish tank with 2 neon tetras and two guppies. Has been up and running for months now.

This morning I noticed slime on the side of the tank. Turns out there are two baby slugs in there.

Don't know how they got in there, only assume one or two were stuck to a fish as everything else in the tank was properly checked before putting in the tank.

Are they harmless?
Should I take them out?

Take them out.

Are they flatish? move around simply by "sliding" over things? if so then they could be flatworms that came with the plants or gravel as eggs, and may help keep the gravel clean. Could you get a pic of them?
If you are not sure as to what they are then yes, remove them.

Thanks for all advice.

Just as an update. We tried removing them. But there were way too many slug eggs already laid. For each one we took out 3 slugs appeared. We were fighting a loosing battle. They did co exist happily

Took drastic action by cycling a brand new tank, then transferring the fish over. All are now happy and no slugs. Mainly, I think, down to the artificial plants that are in there.
