you dont need to feed them in a low light tank, just buy some easy plants like vallis and it will grow really fast

Yeah I have to say as far as real plants, I'm just trying to keep my fish alive right now, With real plants I would probably have to change the substrate, the lights Etc, and I can't afford them either

what lighting have you got now? vallis will grow in any low light tank, with no CO2 or ferts

yeah sound like we are in the same boat

im in a fish in cycle atm so my fish are my main priority

real plants are actually pretty easy.. just do what I did and upgrade one fake plant for a real plant every month or so.. It feels so much more natural with real plants and they benefit your tank as well most of the time. I have real plants with only fluorescent tubes during the day and they are growing like mad with no added fertilizers or anything.

they mop up ammonia and nitrates too, so if you in a fish in cycle they will benefit from the plants.
