Just to add that I've got 2 of Russ's slate caves in my community tank, and the BN babies love them !!!

My breeding male uses an hollow piece of bogwood to breed in, and hasn't changed his preferred home yet...... we shall see

Hey smithrc, my male bristle keeps kicking his eggs out and I end up having to hatch them in a breeding trap.Do you think if I made a slate cave with a lip on the front this would stop him doing it?Or do you have any other suggestions?

Ooops sorry to hijack your thread I didnt realise you were selling them.

It's generally a good idea to tip the cave back slightly (and I mean just slightly lol) as this prevents any eggs from accidentally falling out.

When someone starts making caves which are by default slightly tipped backwards then I'll definitely buy some...

One idea I use when making my Zebra plec caves is a wedge of slate that is attached under the cave with sealent...works for me

Hey Russell, how about a cave big enough for my L007? He's only a little chap but growing up, as they do. The one that doubled in size last year? Be nice to have one that'd be big enough for when he's a real grown up boy. I can collect to not make posting an issue. But no trying to talk me into buying more plecs!!

PM sent I might have another cave soon, going to pick up some slate pieces to create a cave type look over the top - but so far its top - my plec has been in a couple of times, but still seems to prefer his old one for sleeping in

(looks a bit green as the areas overcast with a couple of plants so he feels more secure)
