hi

Iam after a slate cave but not the straight forward box ones .
Something that looks more natural/[pretty lol.   needs to be fair size 8-10 inches wide  by  6-8 deep
seen some on ebay but postage so expensive so prefer something close to home to pick up or good postage.

ideally somewhere near Harlow Essex or hertford ish.

Not sure if this is helpful.. but you could make your own if you can find slate in a garden center. Most superglues are safe for tanks.

What i did to make a slate cave for my plecs, was I went around looking for houses that were getting their roofs modernised and found the old style slate tiles. I gathered up the cleanest pieces I could find. when i got them home I put them into a bucket with tank water init and let them soak for a day or so. then took them out and broke them to the sizes  I needed. (be careful the edges are very sharp.) I took a piece of the slate and rubbed it on the surface and edges to "sand" it down to the correct size removing the sharp edges and cleaning all the dirt off the slate. I then washed all the muck off and then let it dry in the sun or under cover making sure it was completely dry..then I added it to my tank and viola I have home made slate caves. hope that helps (remember this is what i have done some tiles might be treated with chemicals so it would be advisable to test water to see if it changes your chemistry)
