Has anyone heard of Healia? I brought an external filter, it is supposed to do 1200l/h (which i dont think its doing). I filled my tank 3 weeks ago had it running constantly, the gravel made a haze so i emptied the tank, washed gravel really well, and a small haze is still present even though the filter has been running for three weeks. added a peice of drift wood and it sent a SLIGHT dye through the tank, so i brought some Chemi Pure which replaces the active carbon in the filter and does a similar job but is alot better than active carbon. (had several people from experience with it tell me it works) I put the chemi pure in the filter this afternoon and while playing around i had noticed there is a build up of poop on the bottom( i have added four guppies, a tormented electric yellow from my smaller tank and a tormented albino shark from a mates tank), Now correct me if im wrong but isnt actve carbon meant to help break it down? if so why hasnt it? Does this mean my tank isnt cycled properly or does it mean my filter is a cheap rip off i got scammed into buyin??? im gettin my water tested tomorrow from an aquarium and hopefully they will be able to tell me everything is fine.

How often are you doing water changes? Water changes should help reduce it over time. How large is your tank and how long has it been running? I dont use carbon so I cant tell you why its happening buuut if you have 60 bucks I suggest looking into the Marineland Magnum. Those filter series while a good filter truly shine in polishing a tank. head that just a few hours made tanks crystal clear. Its an option (an expensive one) that you may like.

Realistically I say water changes and carbon should work in the end. Just keep on it.

Hmmm ya im gonna do a water change tmorrow, and vacum the gravel hopefully the fish wont b harmed, 60$ in wat currancy? cause im from australia and 60 is nothin lol

I'm in the US so i'm talking US dollars. I hear its great for just cleaning tanks. has an on/off switch on the bottom for use when needed.

You have been doing weekly water changes and have a fully cycled tank right?

I have been doing water changes every 3 days uhh and im pretty sure its cycled as for fully i wouldnt know. gettin water tested soon ill update with the stats
