sick Beta... please help

He’s a beautiful mustard gas. Sometimes color change is normal. Do you see anything on him that he could be scratching?

yes... he seems to like to swim thru the plants... i did treat him with aquarium salt for several days..... but his color is worrying me. he used to be very black... and he just looks unhealthy. The water perameters are good... but he's been pretty stressed lately.
What size tank and how often do you do water changes and how much? What temp is his water? What are his water parameters?
I just moved him to a larger cycled 5 gallon tank.... his first tank was terrible. but he loved it. It kept getting ammonia spikes.. so i cycled a larger tank.

I think he would be happier with a lower pH
pH around 7 or slighty acid would be perfect
ok.. i worried it was a bit high.... I'll research how to lower it!

I take it PPM is nitrates?
All of my bettas are in 7.5 ph. Some over 2 years old. All 9 are fine.
