Shrimp

Shrimp have always intrigued me but I'm not sure if any are compatible with my current stock:

2 Angels
3 Mollies
4 Tetras
1 Red tail shark
1 Pleco
1 Catfish

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Depends a bit on the species, but I'd be worried that the Angels and the Shark would see them as lunch, especially smaller shrimps like cherries or crystals. Full size amanos would probably be ok, but wouldn't like to say for definite.

What tetras have you got? Angels seem to think smaller tetras (eg neons, cardinals) are lunch as well.

Amanos definitely. I fear cherries or anything smaller would be a snack, however they do breed quickly so that might even the numbers out.

They are red fin tetras, so a reasonable size, similar to molly size. All my current stock get along fine and have been for a year or so.

Maybe I could give amanos a try then?

it's a 130L. not saying i will definitely add the little guys, just an idea and wanted some opinions.

Whats the pleco? some reach a very large size and could easily flatted shrimp, i would imagine the shark would snack on them too....

I can't remember the exact name of the plec, but it's one of the small species, only reach 2-3 inches in size. As for the shark he's surprisingly peaceful, but he could still take a liking to them I suppose.

i have 5 full grown bristlenose plecs one male is about 6" with cherry shrimps and i cant see any problem, if you stick to larger varieties
