Hello

is their a shrimp which doesn't eat apple snails or fish (neons) but pest snails like pond snails?

Not that i know of, the only shrimp likely to eat snail are long arm "macro" shrimp, but these are just as likely to go for the apple snails and any fish they can catch. None of the shrimp i have eat pest snails.

I have seen a new species of snail on a German website that eats snails and doesn't reproduce in fresh water but i don't think they are available for sale yet. If they are i haven't seen them and i doubt they will be cheap. Of course these would go for the apple snails too.

Most shrimp are scavengers, and none of the aquarium shrimp (cherry, amano, bamboo or crystal red) will go after a fish or a snail unless it is dead.
I have seen my amanos eating pest snails, like reaching into the shell and picking out the "meat", but i'm pretty sure they were just cleaning up my dwarf puffer's leftovers

My loaces eat pest snails like crazy! and the do not go after any of my fish. I dont have any shrimp that eat snails though

Do you have a snail problem by any chance? You could try weighting down a bit of cucumber in your tank overnight if you do and just pick the snails off in the morning :)

Then put in 4 pieces of food. That'll team 'em!

my amano's ate one of my large apple snails and he wasn't dead until he was dragged out of his shell .
So i now keep my apple snails seperate from my shrimps and the only snails that are in the shrimp tank now are the baby ramshorns that came with some plants and the shrimps like eating them so keeps them happy and keeps the numbers down .

:)
