Well everyone on this forum are starting journals and since i wanna follow the hurd i might as well to, ive already started another thread but i'll let that one dye away and make this my 'official' one

heres my tank at the first level:

and then after talking to you guys and buying some liquid ferts a KH tester and getting my CO2 fixed i change it around to this:

New_fish_tank.JPG

but ive been told and i feel the same thats its two symetrical and mangled so i was thinking of turning into something similar to this with the plants and materials i have (but i could go out and get some of course)

alright the link didnt work; ill try to find something else

Well i did some tests:

CO2 level: 107ppm

Ph: 7.0

Nitrate: 0

Nitrite: 1.0 (or the other way around, always get the n's mized up)

lol i know, but how?

im using the CO2 DIY so its pretty much a bottle an airline tube then the tank

use less yeast. Try using half the amount you used last time...

Stick an airstone in the tank until the mix is a week old. or at least at night aerate the water. You'll see your nitrifing bactria cycle will get aboost and water will clear up in a day or so. Keep the pic's coming, i'm looking forward to progress.

alright thx, ill use less yeast

but one problem, my filter just stopped working!

Alright i just cleaned the entire filter and cleaned out the motor,

put it back-on the tank filled it with water and plugged it in...didnt even move

any other suggestions to get it working?

That doesn't make sense.

If you have a CO2 level of 107ppm with a pH of 7 then your KH must be 35 degrees or 625ppm!!

Are you sure you haven't misread the results i.e. mistaken ppm for degrees?

It also sounds unlikely that a CO2 level of that much would be possible with DIY - we're talking about 4 bubbles per second!

hmm well on the gh test it says that put drops in until the solution turns yellow (not exactly, i did it the intructions precise way)

and it took me 7 drops

i checked the chart and its 107ppm

I think you made a whoopsie on that one, with a PH 7 and I'm assuming its Aquarium pharmaceuticals KH test kit 7 drops before it tuned yellow means 7' degrees.
So for a PH of 7 and KH of 7' that equals 21ppm (give or take)

ooooooooooooooooooooooooh, lol!

thats a relief but can u tell me what mathematical equation i have to do to figure it out for next time?

well i got my filter working again, bouyah!

but anyhoo has anyone had the chance to take A LOOK AT THE LINKS I GAVE?

if so how do you think i could accomplish this?with minimal cost if possible

and also ive been feeding my co2 through the filter intake, anyone know if i can make a DIY ladder? anyone done it before?

thx for fututre help!

well i did it, another make-over, i moved All the tall plants to the right to hide the heater and filter and put that middle piece on the left so i could kind of have the effect which the tank that is my fav of the 4 is, ill post pics tmr if you guys want to!

but please i need some advise on everything in general
