Shark......algy.....?

seems wierd that the only thing that my red taild black shark eats is algy... never fed it, i never could the opalines and the dwarf gouramis are too competitive and the cats wont let him touch the pellets all he can do is eat algy, is this normal?
ive tried more food but i dont wnat him fat, would it be wierd tryin to feed him mollie fry... i thought it would be cruel but it may bee the only way for protien to get into him

I never really see mine feeding either, shows no interest in flakes, occasionally takes a nibble on bloodworms and sometimes try to take my blue lobsters prawns, though doesn't normally succeed with that one. He does take algae though and loves algae wafers.

um sorry forgot to mentions this but hes definatly a he, has triangular fins so im told that is how it is done

he is about 2 inches long and rapsp all day.....he isnt a plec

beside the angels would get dere first

a baster over here costs 50p i would pay that to ensure my fish lives, if its too much hassle for you to care for your fish properly then dont keep them.!

They are omnivorous, so they should be fed greens along with the standard aquarium fare. They have underslung mouths, so sinking tablets and pellets will be appreciated, as will blanched greens.

Try scattering the catfish pellets all over the bottom so he has a better chance of getting some food

I have a large redtailed black shark and he get's food even with three huge gannets of tinfoil barbs and four silver sharks,,,,,just throw in bottom feeder pellet's all around the floor, use a tube to make sure the pellets sink, aim it around or under ornament's

i was only insulting because it appeared as though you couldnt be bothered.

if you have fish that eat the food before he can get it use a baster...theyre not expensive (50p tops)

squirting a baster uses virtually no energy at all, it wont get you out of breath, so i dont see the 'hastle'
