it has been in my tank for weeks but in the past few days the green water has gotten worse and I want to clear it obviously...whats the best way...apart from a 100% water change (I have tried the filter wool method aswell...doesn't work with how severe it is)

If its in the water you could UV it which would kill it off.

Either that or put phosphate remover into your filter....water changes...

Algae is a complete pain in the ass, I have it in mine, but the hair stuff :(

Looks good. I did get a Vecton uv8 (8w) from ebay for around £25 though...not sure on currency conversion. I suspect its the same thing, and its big enough for your tank too. Have you got something to pump the water through it ?

My 8w is more than enough for my tank so yeh. As long as your pumps not doing more than 2500lph you will be fine with that.

Not sure....don't know how to use one of those things...

I have a eheim cannister filter and a fluval internal filter...

Yeh same as me.

Take the outflow from your eheim into the UV and then take the other nozzle from the UV into your tank / spray bar. Its very easy. Just make sure youput some pipe clips on the nozzles as they can come off the pipe.

What eheim model have you got ?
