Several Different Fish Died Over Time - Something Fishy With My Tank

Tonight I've seen the American Flag Fish pooing red fibrus stuff, he seems fine other than that, active, eating and good colour... He is eating loads of algae, what does red poo point towards? Also noticed that some of the neon tetra's have started to look pretty skinny however they are all eating like mad!

Does this help with what parasite this may be, an indication of whether it is egg laying or not would really help the treatment....

TIA

The neon tetra just to make sure.
Have they lost there colour in the red stripe area looks bleached out.
Any blacking lining around the red.
Lumps on the belly that go to a point.

Wilder, Hi

Great questions..

Neon Tetras's
The red has only slightly faded (along with the blue)
Yes, black lines above and below the red
No lumps in the belly

I think you know what this may be.....? :)

Ntd sorry.
The red will look bleached out or creamy in colour.
Black linning is a sign of ntd had it with mine.
Restless.
Leaving the shaol.
Going thin, to bent spines.
Lumps on the belly.
Wouldn't panic just yet though but the black lining is a good give away to the desease.

Wilder, would that result in aggressive behaviour from the neon tetra?

Is NTD treatable with Flubenol 15 and Interpet Number 9 Internal Bacteria treatments?

EDIT: Just read there is no cure...

Do you think this may be part of the parasite problem in general?

Meant to be no cure for ntd.
I will still use it to see if you can save the other fish nothing to lose.
Do a search on black lining with neon tetra's.

Hi mate, got that post in before you - poor tetras! they are amongst cardinals and I've read that cardinals are not affected, is this true?

Do you think this has been caused or contributed to the larger problem I have?

Sure thing, will do the treatment regardless

Won't keep neon tetra's anymore had ntd and wiped the tank out.
They say cardinals don't get ntd but you never know.
I would still use that med though.
This si going to sound awful but I would destroy all your neons sorry.

Wilder, Hi

Sad but true, I will keep an eye on them and then do the right thing. I think I have a breakthrough in diagnosing the other problem!

The American Flag Fish has been pooing red thread like erm... poo, reading on the web this is a classic sign of Camallanus of which Flubenol 15 kills yey!!

Anyone know anything more about Camallanus

Thanks for those, looks like they are egg layers so will be dosing the tank for about 4-6wks to ensure they are gone, they also recommend dosing all fish so it looks like both tanks will get a dosing

Will get a pic of the NT's tomorrow, thanks for all your help!

FFS, can you believe it, major power outage - power has been out for about 8hrs now, any longer and I wont have to worry about treating parasite, will have to worry about a tank that will cycle again

f***** B******

Gonna scream soon

Got the Flubenol today (thanks Paulf  ) but Interpet No. 9 is still in the mailing system somewhere

Conducted a quick water change and dosed, tanks has gone all misty (which is fine by all accounts) so shall now sit back and hope that the fishes feel better tonight!

Both Flubenol 15 and Interpet has been dosed, have a repeat dose of Interpet on Sunday then will dose Flubenol on Monday for the second week. The fish seem fine (apart from a CO2 incident which claimed 1 Otto), the AFF poo has returned to its normal colour, breathing seems normal

It seems to be working!
