Sand For Freshwater

i heard that it's not such a great idea, because when you do water changes the psyphon will pick up a lot of the sand? does anyone have any insight on this?

Unlss you stick the python in the sand, this is not true. You just need to swirl it gently above the sand to suck up the muck.

I've never had a problem when cleaning out my tank which has sand in it. As long as you learn how to use the gravel vac with the sand it's fine!
