Safe To Add Aquarium Salt?

Is it safe to add a small amount of aquarium salt in a tank with Zebra Danio fry in it?
They are 3 weeks old, and because they are freshwater fish, would the small amount of salt be harmful or bad for the little fry?
I need to add salt to help kill off the little white worms in the tank... They have taken over the tank because of the left over food (I feed them a powered fry food) and there is no filter (fry too small for a filter), but I do daily water changes... and salt is meant to help this.
Is it ok to do so?

A teaspoon of salt per 10 gallon would be safe for fry and might help you out a bit with the worms. Sounds like a planaria infestation - vacumning the substrate and removing the worm's food supply is the best way to dramatically diminish their numbers, although the powdered fry food is probably hanging suspended in the water column right? Mechanical filtration would help matters immensely. You could really do with a sponge filter in there - they are inexpensive and fry friendly.

if the "little white worms" are planaria, personally I'd leave them. Fry often eat them-great live food source. Once the overfeeding (inevitable in fry tank) is finished, they should disappear. Just do more gravel vacs/water changes. They will not harm the fry.
