Sadface, Just Found A Dead Rainbow

Just came home from town to see all the shrimp and snails crowded around a bright white lump, turns out it was one of the weaker rainbowfish, thats 2 ive lost now, one to a filter intake and one to i dont know what.

It (I couldnt tell whether it was a he or a she because it had orange fin tips, not red or yellow!) had been sort of paddling around at the surface, but i thought it was just a bit off colour.

It's a shame really that I hadn't done anything, could at least have put her in a net breeder thing so she was out of the way of the flow etc

I assume that your water parameters are all good.

Remember that many of the fish in the trade are overbreed, and so there are going to be weaker specimens in the lot. Sometimes fish die, and there isn't anything that an aquarist can do to stop it. I know that's not exactly good news, but it might be a bit of reassurance that you probably would have been unable to stop the eventuality.

OMG WHAT HAPPENED?!, just abit sad, i know its annoying as much as anything to think its a lottery as to whther you get healthy fish anymore

I really want to start breeding things again aswell, i miss my cories but no more tanks allowed after my eheim threw up over my floor
