Well, my little red guy had sadly died when i got up today. He was so healthy looking two days ago.

He had always lived on his own, and he must of been getting on for 2 years old. I put him into a bigger tank, and then the male next to him, is there a chance it could of stressed him out?

There's really no other reason i can put it down too.

Anyways... My new pair are currently wrapping, and iv had many eggs. The female started picking them up and putting them in the nest at first, slowly but surly my male has copied her!

It's amazing to watch them doing it, i mean its precistly everything iv read on here/ internet. Its crazy how they know exactly what to do and when!

So finger's crossed ill have some babies soon. And with my guy passing on, iv got room in my tank for the best looking one ;)

Also - Should i be treating my main tank while its emptie, before the female go's back after wraping??

Iv done a 50% water chance as of now.

Thanks - Craig

What? If thats the fish that only arrived with you 3 days ago then you are being irresponsible. Didn't even realise you had managed to get a tank for spawning yet. Have you got your cultures for the fry?

yep, yep, yep. She had already been conditing them for me.

You only have the word of the seller and they has just travelled!!

Tis funny, we thought you had been quiet on the forum, and guessed that your next post would say they were spawning

So, what are they spawning in?

Well they both seem fine and perfectly heatly, she didnt even get her fins nipped, which after reading the post's on here i thought she would do lol

You cant see stress, only the resulting illness. Whether or not they have spawned or survive is not the issue. The issue is being irresponsible. You got loads of advice from people, particularly me and Netty, and you haven't really taken any notice. We dont get paid to give advice, but do it for the wellbeing of the fish.

So, what about live cultures etc.....and what tank did you get to spawn in?

im learning, cut me some slack lol.

The ladie i bought the fish off told me loads of methods to use and things. She also sent me somemicro worms and the food she was conditioning with, iv got liquifry one for the first few weeks though.

So basically any advice you've been given has been totally ignored. It really does beggar belief that you are spawning fish that are stressed from travelling and all you can think of is getting them breeding as quickly as possible and completely disregarding what your fish need

We bought a pair for breeding 2 weeks ago but haven't done anything with them yet, except let them settle into their news homes and once I'm happy with them I'll start conditioning them.

Oh and the tank was one i got off my brother. It s just a lil smaller than my big one, not sure what size it is i havnt measured it lol.

you tell me when you said, wait two weeks before you start breeding. then ill accept you saying iv totally disregarded your advice....

That's why we told you to research before you even consider breeding and according to your other posts, you said you weren't going to be breeding for a while yet

Had you come on and asked whether you could breed fish that had only just arrived.........you would have been told NO!!!!

Ok fair enought, i did say that i think...

But they have spawned now and it's pointless you telling me i shouldnt have anymore.

Like i said im learning, and im not going to have all the knowledge you guys have at my first attempt.
I appeciate your advice and everything greatly, i didnt do it knowing you had said not too. Next time i know to wait so its all good.... =]

Well im not on here enought to see most of the treads that roll on through. They had been here 4 days before i did it, and i have no idea how long it takes for them to de-stress.

Didnt say it on thatthread but i know i did somwhere...

ill let you know how they get on.

So assuming you get babies.....do you have places for them to go when they need separating?
