Sad / Happy News

Yer loads of the family want one off me, that will account for a loud. If i get more than that, ill try to sell them on ebay or go down to my lfs and ask if he wants. There's about 6 places i know near me. One seemed intrested when i said i had betta's.

Oh, and il be keeping one too. I will find them homes, garenteed.

I meant when they are around 8 weeks old.....do you have containers for all of them? At 8 weeks they will be too young to be sold!!

This thread just makes me cringe. Your poor poor fish. I hope you're prepared for all those water changes in the fry tanks, plus finding ways to heat all the individual ones, because you don't sound very responsible atm.

Right so you have 50 family members waiting for bettas do you? Sellers condition for the stress of postage not for the stress of breeding. I have to agree with Netty and Broze Craig I dont really understand why you are on this forum when your not paying any attention to advice no one on here will accept you breeding your pair after a couple of days of them arriving, last I saw you were shopping for tanks!
I for one will not be helping you out if you post here in the future and I doubt Netty or Bronze will either. It is infuriating to see someone given perfectly good advice from individuals respected on this forum with years of experience and for to you ignore it thinking you know better. Or simply ignore advice because its not what you wanted to hear. When giving you advice on an earlier thread you basically ignored my advice and asked for someone else to respond.

People on this forum are loyal and caring and friendly always there when you need help, its disappointing you didnt take any of this advice care and help. Its your loss.

hmmmm not a good start, I too am tired of some members who ignore us. SO, do what you like from now on as im not gunna help in future in any which way or form.

I know it seems abit mean, but i was woundering if breeders ever get rid of the baby fry. say as soon as they hatched, take 5 or so, and let the others die off?

Like i said it seems mean, but i dont want lots of fish, i wouldnt be able to care for them all.

Or are you still intending to do this

I'm in complete agreement with Tilly and Modaz.....we wont be giving any further advice as it's a complete waste of our time!!!!! I just pray that your fish do not suffer because of your selfishness.

Ok im ignoring your advice yet. I bought a bigger tank to house my betta's, a got a bigger breeding tank for them, i bought the filter's you recomended, heater as you recomended. When spawning, i did everything i was told i should..

Cup for him to build his nest, no gravel, plants at one end, heated blah blah blah.

Iv got food ready for the fry and so on. Yet iv "totally ignored all the advice given to me"

get of your high hourses, its my first time breeding, im bound to make mistakes.

One thing i didnt do is wait a little while after they arrived, which no one told me i should do, i waited 4 days and tought it was ok!

Yeh, you have changed the tank etc etc....but i think its more down to your overall attitude. If you look back at your posts, particularly concerning spawning tanks, you questioned it every time someone said minumum 10gallons as if they were going to turn around and change their minds. Questions are good, but there comes a point when everyone has to make some decisions for themselves.

A few weeks ago, you said you didn't really have room for a bigger tank cus you are limited for space. I know because I was helping you look for a tank that would fit in, both on the forum thread and through PM's.

You also said that you didn't want loads of fish and that you wouldn't be able to care for them, so were considering culling and leaving about 5.

So whats changed? Have you suddenly found that you can fit in a 20 gallon grow out tank? That you can accomodate possibly 200 fish? That you can seperate off possibly 100 males? And keep them heated? And look after them for 4-6 months! Because its flippin hard work! 100 water changes every other day, and thats if they are in at least a gallon each. Your looking at about 2-3 hours of work every other day with a big spawn, and an hour or so on the other days. And if you take a break from the regime you're likely to have losses.

I think most people got annoyed because this comes up again and again (spawning newly arrived fish). Like i said its not rocket science.

We spend a great deal of time and effort setting up a spawn, as do the other breeders here. Its not done on a whim, and even with planning you can run up against problems. I personally have around 80, 3 week old HMPK's at present and if my last PK spawn is anything to go by, I'll have to start seperating them in the next week or so. Thats because they started fighting at 4 weeks old!

So yeh, people did get annoyed at you. Asking advice is one thing, but researching and using common sense are another.

Well the ladie i bought the fish off spoke to me, she told me loads of info on them brreeding, went trought how she breed's and told me should would condition them, they'd b ready when hey got here.

I went off what she said. I think the male i got is stunnig like wise the female, so i dont dobt for any second she's as good a breeder as you guys on here.

As for the fry, culling- i dont know, i was asking if people do it, if im going too. Depends on the amount of fry.

Im not keeping 200 if 200 hatch... i just wouldnt have the space.

50 or so i would manage.

Anyway, look im getting sick of exsplaing myself to you all. (to who it applies) I dont see why i should have to. I come on for advice, you can either give it to me, or dont. Making posts bitching and trowing fits wont change anything but make this a negative place.

Iv done everything i can, going off what iv researched, the fish seem perfectly healty and happy. Eveything is going as it should, and i dont see why your all in mood's.

So travelling obviously doesn't stress fish out? Thats why there are occasional DOA's.

Says it all really

The only bitchy, immature person here is yourself.....if i may quote one of your replies to a 1st time betta owner on another forum asking about what she should call her new betta, you replied "Leave it a while and call it dead"

Thats me finished with this thread. I see no point in continuing. We see far too many people that just throw a couple of bettas together without considering their wellbeing, or the wellbeing of the resultant fry.

Ha ha Now about an hour ago you had made 4 posts on Bettafishforum.com.......and now surprise surprise there's only 3..........I wonder why that is???

You really are something else. At least have the courage to admit it when you're caught.

History on computers is wonderful

This is petty and quite frankly pathetic. Iv asked an admin to delete this post, i have plenty of things better to do with my time.
