Sad And Relieved.......

Thar she goes!!!!.... I am now officially a fishkeeper with no portfolio..... In the fishroom, (40 tanks)... I have left..... 1 x 2ft tank with 1 x Baby Kribensis in it and a tank with 6 x Commet Goldfish......

Outside, I have a pond with mixed fish from my leaking display tank.... (which will be fixed soon and the fish moved back in), 1 x pond with Albino and Bronze Corrys and a tank with 5 x BN's......

Inside, I have a curved glass tank with a few male Guppies in it, and that is the extent of my current fish stocks.... the lowest I've been in at least 30 years!

At least, I got a report back this morning that my 12,000 Guppies, 2,000 Swords, 130 Convicts and 400 Mollies & Platies (collected yesterday) survived the 3 and a half hour trip to Johannesburg.... It is back to the drawingboard for me and starting from scratch....

It must have been a wrench to se them all go (that's one hell of a lot of fish!) but if new challenges await then it must be done. How about breeding some of the Blue-eyes (Pseudomugil sp) they are beautiful fish and are small enough not to take up too much of your newly acquired space!

I'm looking forward to your work with the new stock, LV. I used to breed kribensis, a fun fish to work with.

Will miss your blue gouramis, though, they were beautiful in that outdoor setting.

I can even think of breeding Guppys, Mollys and Platys for 15 years! Poor Ludwig, must have been bored. :crazy:

Anyway, this marks a new start for you. I'm sure you will enjoy breeding less common species a lot more. Why not start breeding Chocolate Gouramis or those Sunfish you like so much? :lol:

The guy who collected them on Saturday sent me an e-mail today saying that all went well and he only lost 8 Guppies (out of 12,000) and a few convicts.....(which he fed to his redtail catfish). The Swords, Platties, Mollies and Astato Tilapias travelled well and he did not loose any of them.

Here are some of the Guppies and Swords after being packed for the long exodus.......

lol, I was thinking the same. Here in London, [sub]D-amn[/sub] isn't really considered a bad word, its like more civilised version of the S word. :lol:

Same in my part of the UK. Also, it's rarely used here except when people are mimicking Americans... :lol:
