Rummynose And Neon?

My rummynose tetra has been closely following a neon tetra (might be female) could it be trying to mate with the neon?

Well i have 6 neons and 1 rummynose so. . .

However they don't mate. If your rummy nose is female and is dropping eggs then there is a possibility he is following her and attempting to fertilise them.

It's more likely they're just schooling together.
