I bought 4 Rosy barbs yesterday (All are an inch or smaller) and 1 long finned female rosy barb (About 2 inches).
I bought them at an auction for an incredibly good price.
I brought them home with the intention of putting them in my 30 gallon community tank. My Pearl Gourami (who is about 2 inches long) freaked out on the long finned barb female. So I took all of the barbs out and for lack of a better place to put them I set them up in my 20 gallon tank.

The stock in the 20 gallon is currently 5 Rosy barbs and 3 Oto's.

I was wondering if my five barbs will be happy in the 20 gal?
(I think I read that they need at least 30 gallons) Which is a problem because my Gourami also needs at least 30 gallons, but she doesn't appear to get along with barbs (Well especially the long finned one, she seemed fine with the other four)
I could possibly put the four smaller barbs back in my 30 gal, but the long finned one can't go back in :/

Well, it's not ideal, as rosy barbs can grow to about six inches long. Better than them being picked on though, so they'll be alright for the moment, as long as you keep up your water changes.

You will have to think of something else, long term though, I'm afraid.
