Replacing A Light Unit?

I have been after a Lido 120 for a while now and found 1 local cheaply the only problem is the lights don't work now i don't know if it just needs new bulbs or a full unit yet but how cheaply can this be done?

I am more than happy to go DIY on this if its going to mean saving big money as i don't have the best wage in the world and only work weekends

What bulbs does your unit require? I'd try new bulbs first, then if that fails a new unit, you could do it DIY buy buying a new ballast, there is a how to on the DIY board.

thats alright then, i am waiting to hear back from the seller as to whether its the unit or whether it does just need new bulbs, will go check out the DIY sections now

It could also be the starters which are cheap to buy. I had this with a new tank I bought and just bought new ones
