wonderful photos. you'll probably have to do big water changes to keep the water good, fry are very sensitive.

Nice looking spawn. A very proud father watching over his brood, and so he should be as there aint to many of his type that can do the bizz.

i think once your out of the woods you should start a journal.

things still going ok here just have to decide when to move the fry from them :S

had to seperate the fry today as they where starting to eat them so they are in a tank on there own

Two post's side by side, with such contrasting thoughts haha. If that doesnt make sense to most i mean yesterday posting all ok just got to decide when, next day its like 'has to be now!'. The sudden realisation its now or never, got to love cichlids, i'm starting to miss it already.

Keep us updated :) Good luck with them!

They did'nt waste any time turning the fry into food you normally get around 10/14 days before they become lunch. So now they'll spawn again and you'll be wondering should i save these as well, but theres only so many you can and it aint nice watching them spawn over and over just to rear them for a few days and eat them.

One thing to take into consideration is the fact that you rarely see these fish sold in shops. it's my birthday today and my partner suprised me with a lovely red spotted female (Well the shop told him it looked like a female) i wanted a pair but you just can't find them anywhere where we live. he told me it said RARE on her tank. you are so lucky and i hope you can raise them.
