Very cool. I had no idea they spawned on vertical surfaces. I would not have guessed that. Keep us posted.

Hows the eggs going ? Any eggs left, any white ones hopefully not to many. With a bit of luck you should start seeing tails from the eggs in another 24 hrs.

Micko. We've got 2 pair rotkeil, 2 pair heros severus and around 10 young from the above, and hunting like mad for heros notatus with little luck, and way 2 many geos. Sorry for this highjacking.

eggs are doing fine there is only 6 i can see that have gone white so i am hoping they will do ok

Well done or should i say well done to your male as there aint to many of this type of male sev that are fertile.Fingers crossed they go all the way and if they dont this time they will do some time as now you know he can cover the eggs.

i think if things dont go ok this time i might take the eggs out the next time and try it that way

If they've let them get to wrigglers there's a good chance they'll be ok. We have found not to leave the fry with the parents any longer than 14 days , as the female seems to loose interest and wants to spawn again. Not sure if other people have the same experience but its been the same with all our breeding severum.

the eggs are ok some are falling of the filter where they laid them and i cant make my mind up weather they are picking them up and eating them or keeping them in there mouths

When the parents are picking them up it almost looks as if they're eating them but you should see them spit the wrigglers out into a pit near by.
