Red Lump

hi all

i have just noticed a red/purple lump on one of my panda garra that i dont what it is .

just in front of its eye theres a gill/small tentacal which is red/purple and very inflammed,sorry for poor description but can anyone please help or advise on best treatment.

what do they say about working with children or animals!!

got camera out so it goes all shy and hids,i throw sinking food at front of tank, it eats the one that fell behind a plant! and now its got a belly full of food its flying around tank with its other panda like a stray bullet,arghhh!!!

So it doesn't seem to have any behavioural changes, just the lump?

It seems to me like some sort of bacterial infection, what I would do is either quarantine the fish for a while or dose the tank with something such as API's Melafix antibacterial solution.

i have melafix thats about 8 months old,is that ok to use or does it have a shelf life? i have day off work tommorrow so can go get some first thing,if my old bottles ok il get some in tonight so i can make start to getting him back to good health.

I would check the bottles for any dates as I'm truthfully not too sure...

printed under the price sticker was the date both unopened and opened and its in date so im going to get some in now.

hi Joshwainwright just thought id say thanks for your help the other day as couple of days into a week dose of melafix and my lumpy garra has lost his lump,thats what we want so many thanks and have a great night.
