WHAT? you keep silver sharks and platies togther?

yeah thats too bad, get some general meds to heal the tail and get some new growth but it is probable that you will lose him unfortunately as tropical fish are well known for being 'fragile'

ill have to sort some meds out tomorrow

i hope he's going to be ok

Turn tanks lights out and lets him settle down.
Keep an eye on the fins to make sure they don't get infected.

There melafix but is very expensive for what it is.
Its only good on cuts and wounds.
Plus some fish don't tolerate it to well.
You can dab wounds with methylene blue or melafix.

just keep ypur water in tip top condition until you can afford the meds :)

so you added corries when you should be cycling your tank? (i dont think there is a smiley for jaw droping)

Research the fish before you buy.
Take the rainbow shark back to the lfs they need over 40 gallon tanks, as they are aggressive.
