Randomly Sick Fish + Need Help Setting Up A Marine. Ect

So i have a tropical , goldfish tank in my goldfish tank i have 2 species (unsure witch ones tho) and in my tropical i have a siamese fighter male 2 females, 1 black molly (always laying fry ) 1 dalmation male (yes i am getting more females even tho its the female chasing the male all day long!!) and i have a dalmation one that just reached the right size to get out of the breeding tank( not my fish molly keeps having black and is pregnant now might be with my white male that died) im not sure if the baby is a male or female yet (i had shrimps but my copper killed them last night ) i have 2 kkuhli loach 2 mickey mouse fish (not sure on proper name) 1 common pleco , stick fish 2 orange male guppies 2 black male guppies 1 female black guppy 1 female orangy clear one and a few others (about 6-7 females 4 males) 3 minnows 4 black baby mollies in a breeders tank , 2 angel fish , 4-5 mal snails (we moved the tank around not sure if we squashed them (i hope not )Oh and not to forget my 2 frogs .



well my fish had white spot and from that 2 glassfish died and in the past 2 days they have all been acting strange and been dying from unknown

well i have been reserching for hours and hours about it and just as i thought it might be copper we also put the starter fish stuff in 3 drops it said to put 21 in but i dint risk it!! well we put the fish back in the main tank my shrimp was on his little moss ball for the first time
but then he just jumped about banged his head rested then after a few seconds jumped up again banged his head then he just died after a hour he stopped twitching i loved him! well we thought it was as he went bananas so we got my friend to get 2 as he had to go past the fish shop to get hear they was acting strange too then they just died and im unsure wer the other one is i think he is dead too tho and my mum while i was out also went a bit crazy and came home with kuhlie loach some more guppies and shrimp the shrimp died before we got him out of the bag (the guppies ect was stated above) and i woke up to a dead fighter :'( so we got another that cost £6!! but hes lovely so it was worth it! the others got their colour up and they are all doing okay we did a 25% water change (i think 25.) and we sorted the tank out before the first shrimp died ( i think the spot treatment or something els killed the shrimp and the siameese )



well my pregnant mollie ; mollie ; keps going up like sideways and not ^ upwards then goes back downwards i got swim bladder treatment waiting for it to come going to be careful for the copper!! and also my male mollie does it

Forgot to say my minnow got killed by the filter the other day as the sucker bit came off and i dint notice till i saw a fish hanging out faded took forever to identify must been their for some time!! is their a way of prevention?

also my mollie has been squared off and had that white spot under her for 2 weeks and still not had her babies shes 4-5 weeks gone is their any more signs as i dont want to miss it like i did last time!


Also ..one of my angels are being very nippy what shall i do with her?

Welcome to the forunm MSullivan.
For advice on establishing a salt water tank, I would suggest you visit our salt water section. Few people in this part of the forum are very familiar with salt water but people like Simonas in the salty section could definitely set you on the right path.
As far as treating a tank for ich, please read through the treatment advice that you can reach using the Ich Info link in my signature area. You need never lose fish to ich if you once understand what ich is and how it must be treated.
Forget the test strips. Please look at getting a liquid type test kit that does at least ammonia and nitrite testing. The API master test kit does both of those chemicals and also tests for pH and nitrates as a bonus. The ammonia and nitrites must be kept at almost undetectable levels to avoid fish health problems. Reading through your description, it strikes me that you may well have established a tank without first cycling it. That will mean that you have relatively high ammonia or nitrite levels that are the real cause of you fish die offs. The quick fix, even without a test kit, is to do huge, make that enormous, water changes with appropriate dechlorinator treatment of the new water. Whenever I have a chemistry problem in one of my many tanks, I do a 90% or larger water change to get the chemistry back into a reasonable range for the fish. The fish always look far better after the change and it gives me time to check anything else that may be a minor problem with them. Don't forget to temperature match the new water and absolutely use a dechlorinator with the new water.
