Earlier today I was doing my water tests. Get to GH. Its one of them kits where you have to put a few drops of one bottle and then add a drop at a time from a second bottle to calculate it dependent on when the colour changes.
After the seventh drop I'm starting to really stress out, still no sign of a change in colour, no real change to any of the other parameters. What the hell is going on with my water!?!
That was when I realised I hadn't even opened the second bottle. I was just adding drop after drop from the first and wondering why nothing was changing haha.
Wasn't sure where to post it and it sure wasn't thread worthy so figured here would do.

Both. For example, personally a fish I've wanted for a very very long time but just not been able to get my hands on is a little group of betta brownorum, chances are if I saw them in an LFS they would be wild caught, would that put me off? Hell no! I'm considering killis, never had them, it's a consideration. In an ideal world I would source wild, that way I know im more likely to have strong bloodlines in place to start a breeding project upon. Realistically I would end up with captive bred just cause its easier to source them that way, its not an ideal world sometimes. Likewise, predatory fish are a particular interest of mine, a lot of them simply aren't available captive bred.
The point im attempting to make is just that helps to be aware that our hobby has vulnerabilities to persecution. Not just in terms of wild caught either. I don't however for a second believe our hobby is inherently cruel. The same as i would defend fishkeeping, i think anglers can rightfully defend there hobby. We all operate under the legal regulations that are in place in our respective hobbies. Outside of that there is no defence.

I believe a number of us are fisherman on here. I love a good freshwater catfish or saltwater Red Fish. I use to have cattle and pigs and they all had names. I knew eventually, they’d end up in a freezer but I gave them all the love I could while I could. Everything has a purpose in life and treat all with respect.

What brand is it? Most makes only have 1 bottle for GH and 1 bottle for KH. I've used the API GH tester and that only has one bottle......

Colombo. Aquatest Lab Professional.
I used to use API and I figured when I went for a cheaper option, I have enough idea of how the water should be that I would notice if this brand was drastically bad. So far so good though. It is definitely a bit more long winded at points. However considering I find myself locked down with more than enough time to occupy and no idea when or even how I will possibly return to work that hasn't presented itself as an issue to me so far haha.
