Hi, I'm new to the forum but am in the process of my first fishless cycle. Ammo levels have just dropped off and Nitrites are on the way up (I think I should be getting excited)

Anyway, I asked my Mrs to pick me up a bottle of dechlorinator as my little bottle of Stress Coat is running out. She came back from our LFS with a 500ml bottle of Nutrafin Cycle having been told by the staff that "It's everything you need to get your tank ready!!"

Now I know that bottled bacteria is a waste of time for cycling but can I use this as a normal dechlorinator or should I return to the LFS, slap the staff and swap it for some Aqua Plus, Stress Coat etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated

No. It's meant as an instant cycling product, and doesn't contain any dechlorinating agents.

Thankyou Cezza. That's what I thought, I'll take it back to my LFS before I next need to to a PWC and get some of the proper stuff.

Frustrating that the staff at the LFS persuaded my Mrs to go for Cycle when she specifically asked for a dechlorinator. I'll be having words when I go in myself

Thanks again for the help
