Quick Question

Can i mix corry type in my tank? I just read that you can, but also i seem to remember hearing not at one point....

I am getting more so the 2 i have are not lonely, but want to make sure if i get different kinds they will still see each other as friends?

You can but you need atleast 4 of each type. I dont see why you want to mix shoals though IMO they look better in one big shoal of 1 type.

I agree with kizno, I've always found cories are better in one big group of the same species. They don't always class other species as 'the same' and so they don't always shoal properly and act as confidently as they would in a group of the same size of just the one species.

+1 for NOT mixing. If I was to mix, I would make sure to have at least 6 of each type.

im a bit gutted to hear this. im a big fan of cory's and theres some amazing looking ones, but i dont have room for 24 in my tank. i was hoping to get 2 sets of 3, possibly sterbai and schwartz (i think theyre called). in my smaller tank ive got 2 bronze and 2 panda and they seem to hang about with eachother plenty, though that may be down to the tank size.

I have a 90L tank (Thought my 360L is in the shed itching to get set up!!), with a small plec being the only other bottom feeder. I am going to get a couple tiny algae eaters too. How many corrys do you think i could get away with?

I currently only have two....i know...i know.....they like company! But every time i go to get more, they do not have the same ones in stock. Hence my question. That said, the two of them dont seem to hang out very much just now! Maybe if i got more they would though, and also maybe they would get a better chance to eat the sinking pellets as all the other fish bully them away!

Depends on the adult cory size: 6 larger ones, 8 medium (bronze, albino, etc), or as many as 15 tiny ones (dwarf/pigmy).
