Hi, eversince TFF setup the classifieds, I was wondering whether or not we should keep this up and running. Do you like the classified's for plants, or do you prefer our old Plant Swap. The Plant swap was created before the Classifieds, and successfully filled that gap that classified's had, but now there's a plant section for both the UK and the US.

Plant Swap

I wanted your imput on whether to keep it up and running.

On a different note...

We haven't had a new entry in the Member's Planted Tanks in quite some time. There are some lovely scapes here. Hello, one was just featured in our Newsletter yet it is not in Member's Planted Tanks? ;) As long as you follow George Farmer's format on how to post them, I don't care if it's low-tech, high-tech, middle tech, no CO2, high CO2 as long as it's a scape that is reasonably older, at least old enough to the point where you're over the major algae issues. I've been following a lot of scapes here, many are ready to be added. Something for you to think about doing as a fun thing over the weekend.

Member's Planted Tanks

Look forward to hearing your imput.

Your friendly moderator,

llj

I think the plant swap section can be removed.

To be honest we have a swap/exchange area on classifieds. And also classifieds correspond to a specific country.

Plus if you post a thread in the swap/exchange section of the classifieds then you can easily bump it to show people they're still available. Bumping the plant swap thread seems weird though. Cause if everyone did it then the thread would become huge very quickly.

I say remove it, i posted some moss in last time and no-one ever really checks it.

It would leave room for a nice shiney new sticky. :D

Edit:

Ill contribute to members planted tanks with a few pics of my setup when my algae has cleared up.

Yes, yours was one of the scapes I was waiting for to stabilize a bit. Stabilize is a euphamism for "waiting for the algae to clear up."

Even though i was told there was no point, i didnt see the point in stopping with my fishless cycle as its really close now, just waiting for the nitrite to drop within 12 hours, then ill get cleaning and get some fish in. :p

Of course there are pics, but they look like this...

Not really something that is going to inspire someone, eh? :p

There are more crypts behind the wood (infact my favourite crypt is just infront of the pathetic looking Hygrophila polysperma which i planted yesterday (hygrophila, the crypts have been in quite a while) You can almost see it in the reflection, anyone able to see what it is?

personally, i would rather have them both un-pinned

If i want to see a planted aquarium i go to the journals :good: The link is always in my sig :)

Oh, and thanks llj :) I'll see if i can be bothered to add it to there, not a very positive attitude but i am thinking about other articles ATM ;)

Don't agree necessarily on un-pinning the member's planted tanks. Would you rather dig through pages of journals to find the tanks of our older members who are maybe not active here anymore? I like being able to see their scapes quickly. Remember, I can always move it to PARC.

Regarding the Plant Swap, I'm inclined to agree.

Ohh i meant to ask you aaron, hows the colour of my drop checker? :p

haha, good, personally i like a lime-green colour but it may just be the picture.

it just doesnt get used alot, before the one added last week it has been 1 year, and the one before that another year.
Another reason i dont visit it is because there is too many pictures on one page, While waiting to post this message, it has been loading for 5mins and only 5 pictures have loaded :( My internet is very slow. :(

Maybe i just have a personal vendetta against it

Thanks, Aaron

High speed is so cheap now. :p At least in the US. The pictures load in about 30 seconds for me.

I know its cheap, I pay (well, its free with Sky) and it offers 8mb i think, however, we can only get 512kb where we live  It is the same for the whole area, Worksop in general gets about 2mb
