Question about dwarf hair grass

So after an incident resulting in the loss of a pygmy cory, I've decided to re-do a few things in my tank. Today, my dwarf hair grass showed up faster than the expected ship time, and it looks pretty healthy. BuT my new substrate won't be here for 2 more days.

Is there any way I can preserve it until my new substrate gets here? I thought of floating it in my tank since I added some flourish during my last water change a couple days ago, but wasn't sure if that's a good idea.

At the moment I have them floating in in a small cup with the gel still on them =\

Is it in the in-vitro cups? If so I would leave it in the cup, just put it somewhere with light like a windowsil.
