"qualified" Pah!

I was in a cirtain lfs today... just browsing round and I noticed some Ottos... as I only have 2 i decided to get 2 small ones to go with my other two small ones... i called one of the assistants over and asked him to fish them out... then he started...

Mr. Ignorant: Can I just ask how big the tank is please?
Me: 95 Litres...
Mr. Ignorant: I'm sorry but none of the fish in this shop are for sale to you... your tank is far too small for any of them.
I looked at the guppies...
Me: even those?
Mr. Ignorant: Yes even those ones... Is your tank cycled?
Me: Yes i fishless cycled it... (explained to him about fishless cycling as he stood there looking at his watch
Mr. Ignorant: Well, i'm afraid you are going to have to start all over again as you have just poisoned all of your fish... that cannot work as the only way to cycle is with fish in... now, you must not change any of the water and you must pour an entire bottle of this bottled bacteria in daily...
I left and went down to wildwoods... where everyone is willing to help and no-one gives bad advice... and got 2 ottos, ant 2 corydoras hastatus (the same two that I left behind in the tank the last time I went there...

I will NEVER go to that lfs again, and i am pretty ciertain that if i see that supposedly "Qualified" guy again i will shove him in a manhole...

"Qualified", even I knew more than him, how pathetic...

I would edit the store name to just say "LFS" as naming the store could cause some legal issues for our wonderful mods....

That's what I was thinking. Just sounds like he's repeating something he's heard before. And tbh I'd rather hear an assistant saying "your tank is too small" to someone rather than letting them fill a five gallon with anything they like, as is so often the case.

You can still shop there. If you get the same assistant, lie and say you have a 300 litre tank.
