Qt Tank

I have my 3 apistogrammas arriving tomorrow, this time round, I will be putting them in a QT tank

This is my 60ltr tank, sponge filter (with mature media from a reliable source) and heater.

I have a clay small pleco breeding tube (haven't put in yet), that will be going in there.

Should I put anything else in, or will that be ok for a week or so.

However, another issue is my female guppy, she is looking like she may drop fry in the next week. The fry will have 2 options 1) take the chance in the 125ltr planted with bettas 2) take a chance in a bar 60ltr with apistos

I have a breeder's trap but I have read that the stress if going into one of these can make livebearers drop spawn earlier than intended? How old do you think guppie fry will be, before they can out swim bettas?

Guppy fry can swim like no ones business. Lol they can out-manuever plenty of predatorial fish and blend in well with the background. I've kept Endlers (fairly similar) for years and never seperated the fry from the main tank and they currently live with jack dempseys, a large catfish and loaches. Can still turn into a sardine tin in there if I don't rehome them every few months.

id q the apistos for at least 2 weeks. that should be adequate time for any illnesses to crop up. and agreed the guppy fry should be ok with bettas. some of the weaker deformed ones may not make it but the majority should do just fine, especially in your tank with all the cover.
ive kept bettas purposefully with fry for population control. bettas are not very good at it lol
