Ok, those fish in the first picture are beautiful...that purple is amazing. I think I want some. So they are convicts...what kind of convicts? Or is that just the common name for them? (Sorry, but I'm a real dope when it comes to Cichlids, so don't laugh at my newbie-ish questions. :*) )

And I love those Clowns! :p How big are yours? They look pretty huge!
Those cons are beautiful , and again , not dyed , but those little guys can be brutal during courtship ,and, not not very nice to live plants either
They are the aquariums ....bulldozer , sometimes as well . Mine piled gravel half way up the side of their tank

Blue ice , as usual , great pics

Convict Cichlids - Archocentrus nigrofasciatum

I'd never laugh...I'm new to cons myself :)

They are amazing little fish and live up to the reputation...nothing stands in their way...lol

Thanks all :)

Almost forgot the largest clown is approx 4 1/2 inches.

Thanks so much for the scientific name BlueIce. I'm honestly thinking of starting up a tank around those guys...just amazing looking fish. I used to have Black Convicts when I was younger...didn't know what they were though till only about a year ago. Nasty little buggers. But I think I want to get back into the Cichlid business.

Nice size on the Clowns! Do the other fish bother them at all or are they not with the Cichlids? :/

I love those clown loaches!! I have 5, but they are comparitivley ickle at the moment.

The clowns are in with firemouths, sajica, topaz, nic, chocolate cichlids...they aren't bothered at all.

More clownie pics :D

Those convicts of yours are an albino form of convict X Hodoran red points....just about the same species, exempt the amount of color they have! I have a female one of those(not albino) and a regular male....very pretty, only now have they been seperated as a different species(always use to be a differnet color morph)
very cool fish!

Sorry for hi jacking ,Blue Ice .

Arashi , May I suggest kribs , or some south American dwarfs , maybe apistos or one of the lateacara species unless you don't mind the fish moving whatever they can  .

Convicts are great , interesting fish , but the may want to rearrange any aqua scaping the keeper may be particularly fond of  when I said bull dozers , that came from experience , and good parents , ooh and fruitful  If you get a breeding pair , they get busy , just add them to water  . And fry baby fry

Most botia loaches have no problem with most like sized cichlids , sometimes the loaches win
