Puffer Question

I was thinking about adding a puffer to a 55 gallon community tank. Now would i be able to keep it with other freshwaterfish if i were to add aquarium salt? like i have been told.

Everything I have ever read about puffers says that none are suitable in the community aquarium. They are just too feisty and terratorial. It is not worth risking the welfare of your other fish. They should only be kept as individuals in a species tank I'm afraid. Doubtless there will be someone who says they've got a puffer in their tank and its fine. But this is the minority rather than then majority. I am looking into getting a dwarf puffer for my 10 gallon myself so have done a fair amount of reading up. The only fish it says are an outside possibility for being in with a puffer are otos and nothing else. Sorry to disappoint.

The oddball forum can tell you a lot more if you are interested in puffers still. The guys there are far more knowledgable than me
