Im not particularly keen on trimming my plants, largely cos everytime I do i get a soaking arm as Im using kitchen scissors. Also slightly scared ill catch a fish and damage it. I keep looknig out for something more suitable, but havent found anything.

Just wondering if anyone has some suggestions? Im sure kitchen scissors arent the best of tools!

I use 30cm long scissors, makes it much easier. I got mine off eBay for quite a lot less than those from Aqua Essentials

lol I'm using very sharp toe nail scissors! I keep a towel hanging over my 'fish chair', which is the chair I keep by the tank to sit in a watch the tank, and to stand on to do maintenance (my tank is 100gals and I'm 5'1!)

the dearer ones are much better than cheaper sets. Some cheap ones tend to cut/ hurt your fingers and the snap the plants rather than producing a clean cut.

I will PM you with a fairly cheap, but still good quality set.

Can you PM me too im interested as my long ones are ok on my softer leaved plants.

I bought 2 sets of the Aquatic Magic sets for £10 each delivered.

£20 = 2 x 12" curved scissors, 2 x 12" straight tweezers and 2 x 10" substrate Spatulas.

Had them for about 18 months and still working great.
