You can add a photo to your signature from here. You click the "My Media" button and then select "Attachments". At least it just let me. If a photo of my tank shows up when I click Post on this post then I will know for sure it worked.
Yup...there it is...
I don't want it there so I'm going to remove it in a moment but sure enough you don't need Photowhateverbucket...
Before that does it show up as just a link in your signature and the turn into a photo?

To get a picture in your signature, you can host to an image hosting site. Important: right click the image on the hosting site once you have it pulled up. Select "Copy image location". Do not copy a link... do not copy image... "copy image location".

Paste into the sig while you have it up to edit. It will automatically appear and you just need to save. If that does not work you can try using IMG tags. I can walk you through that if necessary.

Maybe it's my computer. I'll try via the desktop later.

FlyingSquid.... try uploading to a free image hosting site. I used www.imageshack.us.

Upload your picture, that will rule out anything that might be going on with your computer causing things not to work (not likely though).

Once uploaded, right click on the picture and "copy image location". Paste that into the "import photo from URL"

Should work.

We prefer people to upload their images to our servers - by using a hosting site, as soon as you delete the photo, your image disappears from this site too. If you upload to our servers, you can delete the image from your sharing site, and your hard drive, and the image remains here.

And the user also has the ability to manage their own images here by using the My Media button.

you both are missing the point of me trying to troubleshoot why it is not working for them.......

hosted successfully to a third party eliminates some variables.

Our interest is to have the board as stable as possible and having the images here insures that the links don't get broken. That's why don't encourage the use of 3rd party image hosting where possible.
