Phenacogrammus aurantiacus (Gold Blue-Eyed Congo Tetra or Lampeye Congo Tetra).

This pic is of one of my shoal of 7 males (2.75”- 3.0”) in my 75g tank along with a shoal of 12 male P. interruptus ( [regular] Congo Tetra). This male is probably around 2 years old as I got him last winter as an adult after searching all over for a supplier of these guys. All the fish get along well and, besides a few corydorus, are the only fish in the tank. They are active, playful, and rather voracious eaters. They readily eat various pelleted foods, flakes, and absolutely go crazy for freeze dried blackworms. I will add that I have aggressive filtration…..2 Fluval AC 110 HOBs with baffles and a Surf 2 floating Algae Scrubber in a 4g sump with a sock and extra Matrix and Biohome media. I also do regular 40-50% WCs.

Entering my 'odd one out' Red Cherry Tetra (Hyphessobrycon sp.Muzel). This fish was alone in a tank with other tetra species at a local store. I picked it up and added it to the 11 I already had. Weirdly enough, the colouring on this fish is a lot more prominent than the other 11, which made it unique in my 90L tank. No idea of the gender, as these fish can be tricky to tell, especially at younger ages. These fish are fed NT labs microcrumb and Hikari Micro Pellet, along with occasional frozen foods.

This is my ninja wood cat (Tatia musaica). I've had him for about two years now. He's kept with other Amazon catfish and peaceful schooling fish in my 125l tank. He only comes out during feeding but I do see him quite often in the rockwork. He's really quite fun to watch and is quite personable.
Fun fact ninja wood cats practice internal fertilization akin to that of a livebearer although they don't give birth to live fry.

Introducing my unusual Plakat Koi Betta Splendens named Pretty Boy Floyd. Here he is swimming above his tiki head ornament in which he sleeps every night. Betta Splendens are also known as Siamese fighting fish due to their aggressive nature when protecting their territories. Pretty Boy Floyd's fighting weight is about 5 grams.

I bought Floyd 3 months ago at the Petco....he looked at me and wiggled and I looked at him and fell in love! I had to have him so I brought him home to my planted 5 gallon aquarium with its large sponge filter.

Floyd is a Plakat Betta which means: a traditional, short-finned variety resembling wild bettas with a sturdy, athletic build. I purposely wanted a Plakat Betta as they are much more comfortable and energetic as they swim about without having to drag around the flowing fins of some other types of Bettas.

Floyd gets fed Northfin Betta Pellets, Fluval Bug Bites, and frozen brine shrimp....only the best fish food for Floyd. I perform 50% water changes about every 10 days.

Floyd enjoys listening to Reggae music and watching fish themed movies like Jaws and Finding Nemo. He swims enthusiastically as he actively explores every inch of his new home ....it's so much better than the little cup he came from. I hope you like Pretty Boy Floyd as much as I do.

Up for show is my adult Inirida Severum. I bought him over a year ago, and he has proven himself to be a wonderful addition to my 75-gallon aquarium. He is a very attentive fish and is always flashing his sparkly greens and blues whenever I'm around. He currently eats beefheart and algae wafers, and lives alongside other South American Cichlids. The only downside is that he stripped away all of the tank's vegetation, but I plan to replace it with Anubias after I give the tank an overdue water change.

Thanks for visiting!

Ever since two weeks ago, I've purchased three betta males. I've been saying for a long time that I wouldn't start keeping bettas again. But I just couldn't help myself. So, now they're in three in separate tanks. All are joined with other fish that are compatible with these bettas.
I put one of them as an entry for the fish of the month. It's a male blue rosetail dumbo betta.

I loved the blue color. There was also another blue one but he was full blue. But I love the the blue edges on the white scales better.
For now, I don't have the intention to breed bettas again. Done 15 years of betta breeding. But it does take more space with all the offspring once I had to separate the young males from another.
