hi all, i might get a birthday present as an annual subscription to the Practical fishkeeping mag, anyone recommend it, is it packed full of good info and is it fun to read?

Thanks :good:

It's definitely a good read, and have heard that August onwards there wil be more pages dedicated to New World Cichlids, long time coming that one..I bought 20 back issues from a well known site for £0.99!! Result!!

i buy it when i see it but it is definitely a good source of inspiration with fish and aquascapes well written and give you odd bits that you wont find else where

Managed to get 2008 and 2007 back issues from someone local to my area through ebay...the format is always pretty much the same, I would purchase this months copy from e.g. from WHsmith and then see if you like it..then you can decide whether to subscribe...I plan to subscribe but only after August!!!

If you don't need the paper magazine in your hands, it can be purchased for almost nothing as an on line only subscription. I went that way and have been enjoying it. I don't end up with a pile in the corner of my fish room that way either.

Do you still get the free gift if you subscribe online? ;)
