hi, i accidently bought 1350 gph powerheads off ebay for my 65g -_-... wayyyy too much flow.

Which powerhead is best and how many should i get for my 65g tank..

the corals i will be getting are probably euphylias (spelled wrong i think), pulsing xenia's, condylactis anemone, maybe some easy acroporas

was thinking 2x koralia 3, is that pretty good?

thx

You have just under 300 litres

300 x 20 = 6000 litres an hour

You could have three k2 which would give your 6900 or 2 x k3 which would give you 6400

In my tank I now have 1 x k3 and 1 x k4 which gives me = 7800 my tank with rock has a volume of approx 320 litres and of course I also have my mce 600 skimmer. I keep mostly euphyllias and anemonies -the flow is perfect for them.

I have in the past had much more flow - 22000, I had the polario, which was way too much flow for the euphyllias and anemonies!

This turn over rate is perfect mate..looks violent to us,lol..but your system will love it, depending on your stock ofcourse..many would happily take even more

it really isn't too much 2 x 1350 = 2750

If you are looking for 20 x 300 (although if you have live rock, there will be displacement), so lets say 250 litres

250 x 20 = 5000

2250 so one more power head with the two you have should be good :good: what powerheads are they?

I suspect you think it is too much as you have them positioned wrongly. one should be pointing up to create a nice turbulance, then if you could show us a picture we can give you some ideas where the other two can be positioned :good:

really? 2750 gallons per hour is not enopugh flow for a 65g tank? on the back of the koralia boxes, it said i should have 2 k3's..

they are no name brands.. i wanted to go cheap but now i realize that having a hobby like this, that way is not going to work.

ill try to get picture up asap, camera down..

thx for hlp

If they are rated in gallons and not lts one would do your job perfectly mate

k, 1 is 1350 gph so ill get 2 k3's so there is better circulation and water movement not just movement at 1 direction

thx!

No, the K is rated in litres per hour 1500 lph or 400 gph

really? thats probably what it is in the UK, cause i live in canada and it tells u both here.. its 850gph for k3.. or thats what it says on the box.. do we have different powerheads?

Probably the same product but different ratings i guess...do you work in u s gallons there or imperial gallons like here in the uk??
