Posting Fish, How Much Would You Pay?

Hi,

Just a quick question really. I post quite a lot of fish usually with APC which cost £18-£20 including all packaging.

My question is... What would people pay to have fish delivered? There are specialist DEFRA licensed couriers but would charge £28 per box not including packaging. Is this too much?

£18 is definatly too much, I dont care how reliable the service is, not an excuse to bump up the price by a few pounds. And £28 is just an overkill, you know, just forget it, I would never pay £28 for a fish delivery unless I was drunk lol

It depends on how many fish.

When I stocked my Mbuna tank I got my fish directly from a breeder.
I got them in 2 batches of 20 fish. Paid about £20 for each consignment to be couriered. But for that many fish I didn't mind. Wouldn't have paid that for 2 or 3 fish though.
I have had a fewer fish sent to me by Royal Mail for £10, which was better value.

I;ve used trimar at £!0 postahe which has been great service and oddball express at 15 quid which is too much IMO

Yeah around the £10 mark I'd expect to pay, maybe a few quid more.

But now is not the time of year to be getting fish delivered!

I dunno who APC are. Is it a proffesional delivery service or something??

I think for recieving fish by post, i'd pay between £10-18, basically, when paying for postage I think it's only fair that the seller charges the same cost as it costs them to send it (+ packaging, obviously), they shouldn't make a profit from sending IMO.

For a courier service, I think the price shouldn't be as high as £28. BUT they are specialised couriers, so I would maybe suggest that you have a choice for your customers.

Pay £18 send through post.

or

whatever price to send via specialised courier.
