My platy has this thing coming out of her. It's like a white lump with some pinkish color. From what i have read, it looks like intestine, anything i can do? Will it affect my other fish?

Prolapse can be caused by constipation, bacterial, internal parasites, the fry are growing to big inside the female.

Most fish don't always survive a prolapse. You need to isolate the sick fish and use a bacterial medication.

Is there anything i can do to prevent my other fish from getting it in the future?

Just make sure your fish don't show any of these symptoms.
Long stringy white waste, grey stringy waste.
Worms sticking out of the fish anus.
Enlarged anus, red inflamed anus.
Fish that look skinny, or bloated.
Sunken in bellys.
Curved spine.

You can pop the intestines back in,. You have to back up with a internal bacteria medication.
