does anyone know if its ok to use pure Plaster of Paris to lift the GH of my Aquarium water a little.

No. If you HAD to raise the GH then just put a small media bag of crushed coral in the filter. Although now thinking about it, you can buy a GH powder from AE.
All together, I wouldn't mess with the GH. Fluctuations do more harm. Why do you need to raise it?

I only have a GH of 2 coming out of my tapwater.

Nothing wrong with that. Wish I had that out of my tap. If you were worried about some plants not getting enough metals then the GH booster will help. But if you wanted fish like Malawi you would need to find a more efficient way of hardening the water.
