What plants do people recommend for tanks with Cichlids? I prefer not to have them become a meal.

Maybe java ferns? They are very sturdy and usually fish dont go after them.

I had them but for some reason they disappeared so I assumed the fish ate them.

I have never heard of a fish eating java ferns! What type of fish are they?
