I am in my 2nd week off a cycle and my plants are starting to go brown is this normal or have i got a problem somewhere.

I have got co2 and ferts.

Mine went like that during the cycle which took and endless 9 weeks. The algae goes eventually but it looks horrible while it's there. I kept scooping it off but it kept returning. All clear now though. Patience is more than a virtue with fish less cycling. Good luck!

It sounds to me like you do not have enough light. CO2 and ferts cannot make up for a lack of adequate light. I push light in even my low tech tanks, no ferts or CO2 added at all. Light is essential for any plant to prosper.
If you have any trouble with the cycle itself, please be sure to tell us about your plants and their health or lack of it. Plants can definitely affect your cycle chemistry to a large degree.
