going on vacation and am not going to be home to deal with the lights. if i dont buy timers, will my plants all die?

ive got swords, vals, java fern, java moss, cabomba(sp), and crypts.

Yes... I'd rather get that timer....
 
i would worry more about algae taking over. i had a 4.5 day blackout in th ewinter and when the power came back on i had terrible algae issues which i have only recently gotten all sorted. id save the worry and buy a timer...it;ll be cheaper than replacing all your plants in the long run. i think i got my timer for something like $7 from walmart...just look in the lighting section in the household goods...theyre cheap.
 
I just use one timer and then a multi plug ;) kind of obvious but I have seen quite a few people that buy 3 timers all set to the same timing.
