How do YOU want it to look...?
Personally, I would add more plants, and try to vary the placement a bit so it doesn't look like a row across the back of the tank. Maybe go for an arrangement which slopes down from one side to the other.
If you don't want to add more plants, I'd take some of the ones fro the middle of the tank and add them to the back corners to get a more concave effect.
The vallis will probablly start sending runners out soon so's you could use them to fill in any gaps later.
So much is down to what looks good to you though

the substrate maybe ? :) something that would offer more nutrients or something a bit smaller ?? :) maybe its just me but i find the substrate big :(

  You could put a shark to eat the diver. Just kidding. Seriously, what's the WPG in your tank (Watt Per Gallon)? You could try some smaller foreground plants, maybe with a contrasting leaf color or shape. I agree, the substrate is really bright and big. But I know what a pain it can be to change it.

Welcome to the forum chrisski.

The pinned topics in this forum are a good place to start if you want a successful heavily planted tank, rather than the few "token gesture" plants that you so often see.

Lighting is the most important aspect that is commonly insufficient in most tanks. CO2 is very useful, if/when you have both light and CO2 in high quantities then fertilisation is very important. All these topics are covered in the articles and should answer most questions you may have.

The substrate is the gravel or media the plants root and grow in, on the floor of your tank.

hi chrisski.

your gravel is pea gravel (size of peas), this is much too large for decent plant growth. the roots cant grip on well enough.

to give you an idea of the correct size here's a pic of 2 of mine. both are gravel, one 3-5mm normal gravel, the other 2-3mm black gravel.

there is more to it than that alone but dont want to bore you with the whole lot at this stage.

hope that helps
