Planarian Problem

I have a problem in my 55 gallon tank with flatworms. I know why they are there and I know what they are. I was just thinking about medicating the tank should the traditional methods of dealing with them fail. So what would be better at slaughtering planarians, Copper Safe or Clout? I have a couple snails in there which would be removed if I do medicate but would they ever be able to safely go back in? And if so how long?

Why use meds when all you have to do is stop feeding the fish for a day or so, they will eat the worms ?
